What is real?

Well!!! Why did you click on this link?

Chances are good that you are like me who gets fascinated by creations of the nature. The flowers, the rivers, the mountains, the animals, humans, planets, stars, galaxies and the list goes on....So many elements of nature are so beautifully interwoven in this fabric of space and time. Everything seems to be so different on the outside and yet it is all one and the same thing. In essence everything is nothing but some field of energy, expressing itself uniquely. And again who interprets it the way it is, your senses. Look at your palm, what can you see? some skin? what is beneath it? some flesh? what is it made of? blood vessels, proteins? what is that stuff made of? DNA? some elements? proton, electrons? some energy?

Don't you feel amazed to know that anything and everything that ever existed is so different on the outside and yet connected at its essential core? Some field of energy having got an expression in the physical realm? I certainly am amazed.

Have you watched this movie - the Matrix? I love the way Morpheus explains what is Matrix, to Neo. He shows Neo that if all the signals to his brain are intercepted and be fed by a program , he will essentially live in a different world. He asks Neo to define reality. "Reality is nothing but whatever his five senses can see, touch, taste, smell or hear". and this reality thus can be manipulated as easily as can signals to his brain can be. Morpheus trains Neo so that he can free his mind
from the conditioning by the Matrix, shed all elements of doubt, fear and distrust in his potential.

Don't you think that our potential is limited because we are made to believe so? We are conditioned by established beliefs and systems of the world. It is this conditioning which is stopping us from being our essential omnipotent self.

All the religions talk about our existence as soul beyond our physical body. They preach that God lies within us and that we are capable of anything and everything. They are perhaps referring to that omnipotent essential form of being that we are- unconditioned bundle of energy. I wonder what would it take to reverse this conditioning and help that bundle of energy unleash its unlimited potential.

Who am I?

Life is too busy to let you sit down, relax and think which direction are you moving to. Isn't it? Most people see it as a means to an end. Not as an opportunity to relish it and make it meaningful. Sadly, I have been one of those most people. It is at times such as these, when you feel motivation less, directionless and hopeless about your future, you tend to initiate a dialogue with the most important voice, your inner voice. Who am I? What am I supposed to do? What is my purpose here? I see that all those who have identified their purpose of existence and have committed to it, have attracted all the happiness, wealth and made a mark for themselves. Look at Sachin Tendulkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Shahrukh Khan, Amir Khan, Ronaldo, Roger Federer, Sergey Brin, Larry Page, Nandan Nilekani, Narayan Moorthy and there are countless successful individuals who seem to have been born for what they pursued and look at the result of their doing so. It is in knowing what am I born for, lies the h...

Is governing similar to parenting?

Today while reading a news article about free market economics, some thoughts came to mind. It was remarkable to note striking similarities between governing and parenting. Typical functions of a government / Parent 1. Protect their people / children. 2. Take care of them when they face a disaster / sickness. 3. Educate, motivate and inspire to inculcate good citizenship / human values. 4. Inform them of important events. 5. Act with fairness when there are disputes. 6. Provide welfare services / pocket money. Questions a good government or a parent may ask themselves? What should governments / parents  do? 1. Enforce rules or provide freedom? 2. To what extent should they set rules? 3. To what extent should they provide freedom? 4. Should they appease their people / children to gain popularity? 5. Should they take unpopular actions for the long term good of people / children? I don't believe answers to this questions are clear. Like most things in life, you...

Ideas for a better Living

A lot goes on in your mind as you live through the daily problems around you. A lot of us have creative solutions to the problems that we face. I guess the story ends as soon as we are confronted with another problem and we are required to survive through it. In today's era, where you have this fabulous medium to collaborate and speak out your mind and give your creative solutions to the rest of the world, We should not miss out. I am presenting the problems that I see around me that bother me. I will begin with what my mind says the solution should be. I invite you all thought leaders out there to generously share your views, criticize wherever appropriate and offer alternative solutions that your creative mind comes up with. 1. How do you report a corrupt activity in public systems in an effective way? Solutions: I see there is a clear void in people's power to quicky report a wrong doing as small as a ticket conductor not issuing ticket against the money that he takes from ...
